Though it is too early to say anything about the capital of Scotland as I just moved here on Jan 2019.
Places to Visit:
Edinburgh Castle: Definitely worth visiting, I would like you to suggest you go to prince garden first and from there you can follow the walkway to the Castle, in between you will get a lot of photo opportunity.
But I can not wait to express my view on the city -
Looks like a huge Palace
The entire city looks like a huge palace with lots of castles, you will easily find so many staircases in the city which leads to another place, sometimes it gives a feeling of multistory infrastructure.
People
I found the people here so warm and welcoming that you start a conversation from anyone, literally
Art
People seems like a great fan of art here. you will find a lot of theatre, cultural event venue inside the city, Also there is a cinema hall called Filmhouse which shows all the award winner old movies.
